Wild Isle Hoodie Care Guide

Hoodie Washing & Care Guide

For Polyester-Cotton Blend Hoodies

Hoodies are a wardrobe staple, offering both comfort and style. To keep yours looking and feeling great, follow this detailed washing and care guide.

General Washing Instructions

Machine Washable at 30°C – A gentle, low-temperature cycle helps maintain fabric quality and prevents shrinking.
Use Mild Detergent – Harsh chemicals can break down fibres over time. A liquid detergent is best for a deep clean without residue.
Wash Inside Out – This prevents fading and protects any prints or embroidery.
Avoid Tumble Drying – Heat can cause shrinkage and weaken fabric fibres. Instead, air-dry your hoodie.
Dry Flat or Hang to Dry – Lay it on a drying rack or hang on a clothesline in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Do Not Use Fabric Softener – It can coat the fibres, reducing breathability and moisture-wicking properties.
Iron on Low (If Necessary) – Use a cool setting and place a cloth between the iron and the hoodie to avoid heat damage.

Traditional Hand Washing Method

If you prefer a hands-on approach, hand washing is a gentle way to care for your hoodie.

  1. Fill a Basin – Use lukewarm water (not hot) with a mild detergent.
  2. Submerge and Soak – Let the hoodie sit for 10-15 minutes to loosen dirt and oils.
  3. Gently Agitate – Swirl the water with your hands and lightly rub areas with stains. Avoid twisting or wringing the fabric.
  4. Rinse with Cool Water – Ensure all soap is removed.
  5. Press Out Excess Water – Lay the hoodie on a towel, roll it up, and press gently to remove moisture.
  6. Dry Flat – Lay on a drying rack in a well-ventilated space.

Modern Washing Method (Machine Wash)

  1. Sort Your Laundry – Wash with similar colours to prevent dye transfer.
  2. Use a Mesh Laundry Bag (Optional) – Helps protect the fabric and prevent stretching.
  3. Select a Gentle Cycle at 30°C – A lower temperature helps maintain fabric integrity.
  4. Add a Mild Liquid Detergent – Avoid powders that might leave residue.
  5. Skip the Fabric Softener & Bleach – They weaken fibres and may cause damage.
  6. Remove Immediately After Wash – Prevents creasing and musty smells.
  7. Air Dry in a Well-Ventilated Area – Never use a tumble dryer, as heat can shrink and damage the fibres.

Final Tips for Hoodie Care

  • Spot Clean Small Stains – A damp cloth with mild soap can remove minor stains without a full wash.
  • Wash Less Often – Frequent washing can cause fading and wear. If it’s not visibly dirty, airing it out might be enough.
  • Store Properly – Fold neatly or hang to avoid stretching.

By following these steps, your hoodie will stay soft, comfortable, and looking great for years to come!
